American Solomon’s Seal is a shade-tolerant perennial plant native to woodland and forest edge habitats in North America. It is well adapted to cool temperate climates and grows best in moist, well-drained soils rich in organic matter. The plant produces arching stems with alternating leaves and develops small flowers along the underside of the stems. It spreads slowly through rhizomes and is suitable for shaded garden beds and naturalized woodland planting areas.
